Green Helping Hands Non-Profit Website About to Launch

Green Releaf-Greensburg Video

Yesterday, the first steps were taken to create the non-profit organization, "Green Helping Hands™" with the concept very simple. Creating a Green Cross, a second wave of help for communities after America's First Responders have left out of town, are on their way to another Natural Disaster. Our slogan is simple, "Green Helping Hands reaching across America. Our first responders are the best in the world, but often, communities need help after their initial needs have been met, need help in rebuilding their lost infrastructure...Green Helping Hands™ wants to help meet the need. We are looking for an attorney to help us in getting registered with the state of New York as a non profit, and taking the necessary steps to become a 501 3C.

Green Helping Hands have secured web domains, and hope to launch the site next week. The first project will be helping to raise funds and product for the people of Greensburg, Kansas. For those wishing to contribute to the towns rebuilding efforts, we have posted an address below where you can send donations. Please mention Green Helping Hands in the memo for tracking purposes. If your company is interested in donating building product to the citizens of Greensburg, Kansas, please feel free to contact Green Helping Hands™ at green_helping_hands@yahoo.com .

We will be accepting proposals from 15 corporations who would like to be founding members of this Green Charity as a part of their Corporate Social Committment to America and its citizens.

Google-Greensburg Before and After

Greensburg is fast approaching the one year anniversary of the devasting event that destroyed almost all of the town's infrastructure. They need Green Helping Hands from across America to help them rebuild, regreen their town as they become America's Greenest City. Shortly after the event, Google put together a set of satelite photos that truly puts the disaster, its devastation in proper perspective, and we share those photographs here, and ask you to become involved in the Greensburg Project.

Recently the town of Greensburg, Kansas was devastated by an F5 tornado and most of the town was destroyed. On May 7th one of our satellite providers, DigitalGlobe, jumped into action and gathered imagery of the region for search-and-rescue teams. Today we are making this before-and-after imagery available as a Google Earth overlay. We think you'll agree that the imagery is quite powerful, and we hope it is a valuable resource for rescue teams, residents, and all of those touched by this natural disaster.

Greensburg Project Launch-Be a Volunteer-Contact us Today

The Green Cosmic Rabbit Is Pleased to Bring You This Worthy Cause-True GreenTeam Going to Greensburg Kansas

Last year the small rural town of Greensburg, Kansas basically disappeared off the map when a tornado rained disaster down on their community. As the citizens of this American Heartland community approach the one year anniversary of this tragic event, Green Home Solutions, the Green Team and many of our friends are spearheading an initiative to help rebuild Greensburg.

Green Home Solutions, the Green Team Leaders and leaders of the community will be partnering with our affiliates and the general public in gathering donations of cash and Green Home Building products in preparation for our cross country trip. We will present our "GREEN Helping Hands” project for disaster relief to assist in rebuilding the town.

We will be off on an exploratory trip in late February/early March to spend time, understand the town members needs, and donate our talents in the rebuilding of Greensburg, lending them a hand in accomplishing their goals, recognizing Greensburg’s dream of becoming America's Greenest city.

Several corporations and green building industry professionals, companies, and builders have expressed interest in being a part of this green humanitarian effort. Many have already jumped on board, offering their commitments of time, money, and product. This is a "people to people" action the Green Team intends to duplicate throughout the USA.

We also hope to connect Greensburg, Kansas with Greenwich, Connecticut. Our Green Helping Hands project will be building the first six Eco Friendly “GREEN” HOSPITALITY HOMES in Greentown's Eco Village in parallel with Green Home Solutions Extreme Green Makeover in Greenwich, Connecticut.

Greenwich Environmental Action Task Force will be supporting our efforts to bring more attention to the plight of Greensburg, KS. Our documentary film crew will capture both events, which we hope to have happen simultaneously. In addition, the Discovery Channel is already on the ground in Greensburg documenting the ongoing efforts to rebuild the town. This will focus the nation's attention once again on this small town in Heartland America in need.

Green Helping Hands Launches Greensburg Project

George Peppard of the A Team said it best when he quipped at the end of each show, "I love it when a plan comes together." Hopefully a group of green hearted Americans will have the chance to stand in the town center of Greensburg, Kansas and whisper those exact same sentiments, knowing they were successful in mobiling a green army of volunteers to help the town recover from a devasting tornado, lend them a hand in realizing their dream of not only recovering from this natural disaster, but in becoming America's greenest city.

True Green Team visionary Bill Thomas not long ago awoke in the middle of the night from a dream, a dream in which he would go out to Greensville Kansas, feet on the ground and lend his vast talents in the building and green products industries to the people of the town in America's Heartland. That night, that very moment a seed was planted and over the past several weeks with the help of his True Green Team, that seed has begun taking root, sprouting as it were new branches as others hearing his plan have begun jumping on the Greentown Express as we work towards raising the cash and green product donations needed for this grand green adventure.

Bill Thomas shared his vision with his beautiful wife, and business partner Jackie Jaques who instantly embraced the idea, and suggested their Green company, "Green Home Solutions" be the first corporate sponser on board. Bill reached out to his friend Sherwood Martinelli with a few simple words over the phone, "We are going to Greensburg, get out on the net and see what you can find out what is going on there." Jackie in the meantime reached out to some near and dear friends, and business associates Stan and Jane Greenstein of The Great Green Race. The core of the Green Helping Hands Greensburg Project committee was completed when Heather Burns=DeMelo of Fairfield County Green Drinks, and a editor at AllGreen Magazine embraced the idea and came on board.

This blog journal has been launched to tell the story from the perspective of those involved in this great green adventure. We invite all volunteers, donors and corporate sponsors to share in creating a rich vibrant story of how Green Americans rebuilt a devastated town in the middle of the Heartland into America's Greenest City.

If you would like to be a contributor to this living journal, please send your email address to green_cosmic_rabbit@yahoo.com and a invitation to become a writer here on this blog will be sent out at our earliest convenience.
