Green Helping Hands Launches Greensburg Project

George Peppard of the A Team said it best when he quipped at the end of each show, "I love it when a plan comes together." Hopefully a group of green hearted Americans will have the chance to stand in the town center of Greensburg, Kansas and whisper those exact same sentiments, knowing they were successful in mobiling a green army of volunteers to help the town recover from a devasting tornado, lend them a hand in realizing their dream of not only recovering from this natural disaster, but in becoming America's greenest city.

True Green Team visionary Bill Thomas not long ago awoke in the middle of the night from a dream, a dream in which he would go out to Greensville Kansas, feet on the ground and lend his vast talents in the building and green products industries to the people of the town in America's Heartland. That night, that very moment a seed was planted and over the past several weeks with the help of his True Green Team, that seed has begun taking root, sprouting as it were new branches as others hearing his plan have begun jumping on the Greentown Express as we work towards raising the cash and green product donations needed for this grand green adventure.

Bill Thomas shared his vision with his beautiful wife, and business partner Jackie Jaques who instantly embraced the idea, and suggested their Green company, "Green Home Solutions" be the first corporate sponser on board. Bill reached out to his friend Sherwood Martinelli with a few simple words over the phone, "We are going to Greensburg, get out on the net and see what you can find out what is going on there." Jackie in the meantime reached out to some near and dear friends, and business associates Stan and Jane Greenstein of The Great Green Race. The core of the Green Helping Hands Greensburg Project committee was completed when Heather Burns=DeMelo of Fairfield County Green Drinks, and a editor at AllGreen Magazine embraced the idea and came on board.

This blog journal has been launched to tell the story from the perspective of those involved in this great green adventure. We invite all volunteers, donors and corporate sponsors to share in creating a rich vibrant story of how Green Americans rebuilt a devastated town in the middle of the Heartland into America's Greenest City.
